Tour Itinerary
Start your adventure with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short drive to Arusha National Park, you’ll begin your trek at the Momella Gate (1,500m). Accompanied by an armed ranger for wildlife protection, you’ll hike through lush forests, passing waterfalls, and spotting giraffes, buffaloes, and various bird species. The scenic hike takes you to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) for your first night on the mountain.

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a steep ascent through the forest, gradually entering alpine meadows and open grasslands. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance and the Meru Crater below. After a steady climb, you’ll reach Saddle Hut (3,570m), located between the peaks of Little Meru and Mount Meru.
In the afternoon, there’s an optional short hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatization and to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.

You'll begin your final ascent to the summit of Mount Meru around midnight, reaching Rhino Point (3,800m) first and continuing along a narrow ridge. As the sun rises, you'll approach the summit of Mount Meru (4,566m), Tanzania's second-highest peak. From the top, you'll have spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscapes.
After celebrating your achievement at the summit, you’ll descend back to Saddle Hut for a short break before continuing down to Miriakamba Hut. After lunch, you’ll trek back to Momella Gate, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Arusha.
